Based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Carolina Crown is a member corps of Drum Corps International (DCI). Carolina Crown won the 2013 Drum Corps International World Class Championship, the first former Open Class/Division II corps to do so. Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps marches in the Bristol, Rhode Island Fourth of July Parade in 2017.

Drum Corps International (DCI) is a governing body for drum and bugle corps. Founded in 1971, and known as "Marching musics major league," DCI develops and enforces rules of competition and judges at sanctioned drum and bugle corps competitions throughout the United States and Canada. It is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Through 2010, all active World Class corps (22 corps as of 2016) competed in the Quarterfinals, with the top 17 advancing to the Semifinals. The top 12 corps from Semifinals then advanced to the Finals. Since the 2011 season, all active DCI corps (Open and World Class) have been permitted to compete for the championship.
In 2014, the Blue Devils won their sixteenth DCI World Championship. At the DCI Finals in Indianapolis on August 9, the corps received a record high score of 99.650. [7] The Blue Devils are also the only corps to have crossed the 99-point threshold twice in DCI World Championship history, achieving a 99.050 in 2009, and a 99.650 in 2014.
1971. 1972. 1973. The Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps was an Open Class corps. Based in Great Bend, Kansas, the Rebels were one of the thirteen founding member corps of Drum Corps International. [6] The group was founded in 1947 by local music teacher John Taff as the St. Rose Drum and Bugle Corps.
