An update on Livingston Mall in Livingston, NJ. I was at Livingston Mall a few days ago and it’s gotten more sadder than when I posted here about 2 years ago. For starters, Zumies, T-Mobile, Hollister closed their storefronts along with some others I didn’t get to see in the back. Though I didn’t take any pics of it, I saw some people ...

Livingston Mall is one of the most wild situations of a mall in a very affluent area, but the residents take the trip to Short Hills and the people shopping in the mall aren’t from the surrounding area. The mall tried so hard to appeal to the locals and ran out their actual customers and now they’re just happy to get anyone.

Willowbrook is thriving right now, and Garden State and Short Hills are really good as well. Let’s just hope that either Kohan gets off their asses or the Livingston buys the mall back, because this mall just reeks of “dying mall about to go under”. Time to make windows, add showers, and turn these shops into housing.

I got to see Livingston Mall before those anchors left, and since, and it makes me sad. Very decent mall, perhaps underrated. Felt a touch like Leigh Valley in looks. I do like the retro/antique booth style stores that opened, but you can all but tell Kohan's going to run this one into the ground.

The Short Hills Mall has always been upscale (it's now uselessly so...it at least used to have a record store lol) and if you wanted a regular mall, Bridgewater was better (I'm not as familiar with Willowbrook). So Livingston was slightly down-market without being a flea market, but in a very up-market area.

Just visited the Livingston Mall in New Jersey last Friday. Surprisingly, this mall still gets decent foot traffic, despite losing Lord and Taylor’s, Sears, and Modell’s since Covid started. Modell’s is a furniture store now, still no replacement for Lord & Taylor. Sears is still a vaccination center, and nobody has bothered to take down ...

Macy's plans to close 150 underperforming full-line locations by the end of 2026, including 50 by the end of 2024 and focus on upgrading the remaining full-line stores as well as open more Luxury stores such as Bloomingdale's and Blue Mercury and small format stores. The Brunswick Square and Livingston Mall locations are definitely closing.
