The following is a list of English words without rhymes, called refractory rhymes —that is, a list of words in the English language that rhyme with no other English word. The word "rhyme" here is used in the strict sense, called a perfect rhyme, that the words are pronounced the same from the vowel of the main stressed syllable onwards.

Rhyme. A rhyme is a repetition of similar sounds (usually the exact same phonemes) in the final stressed syllables and any following syllables of two or more words. Most often, this kind of rhyming ( perfect rhyming) is consciously used for a musical or aesthetic effect in the final position of lines within poems or songs. [1]

It is usually referred to by using letters to indicate which lines rhyme; lines designated with the same letter all rhyme with each other.
