Added to NRHP. August 13, 2008. Wilbur and Martha Carter House is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was built in 1951 and is a one-story, "L"-plan, Modern Movement style dwelling. It consists of two gable-roofed intersecting wings and features a carport, recessed entrance, and massive brick chimney.
1949–2020. Wilbur James "Jimmy" Cobb (January 20, 1929 – May 24, 2020) was an American jazz drummer. [1] He was part of Miles Davis 's First Great Sextet. At the time of his death, he had been the Sextet's last surviving member for nearly thirty years. He was awarded an NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship in 2009.
