I will be staying down in the Naples area in an Airbnb for winter and playing at Bonita Spring Poker Room regularly while down there. Would love to get into contact with some regulars who play at this location to discuss different things / bounce hands off / network etc. I am a play for profit player. Been playing seriously for 2 years.
That's Florida poker, he would have called you with deuces, but you want that call. I know half the regs and about half the floor/staff. Most of the old dealers are great people and its like having a friend deal to you. I don't know a lot of the newer guys/girls, so can't attest. Some of the higher ups in room management I'm not such a big fan of.
Palm Springs? I probably wouldn't take 100% of my vacations there. But it has much of what you seem to like, without the rip off element vegas has. They don't charge for parking, a coffee and a muffin aren't $28 and stuff like that. It's a cool city with it's own vibe. Decent poker. Other gambling is good. Full range of dining options. Dessert ...

Venetian parking garage could be a nightmare trying to get out sometimes and it was still a long walk to the poker room. Palazzo (if you know where to park) is awesome. I have upgraded card for free parking but even if you don't I think it's 3 hours of poker to get it free for the day.
That does not require poker to be in that mix necessarily. (Many years ago, I was given a spreadsheet for a thriving, meaning busy, poker operation at Stations. The room was profitable to it ending, but was eventually closed.) Face it, poker players are the red-headed stepchildren of live gaming
Also, with poker overhead being so high, especially per square foot, and poker margins being so small, it is easy for a poker room to mess up and far into the negative. Overschedule, or add one to many layers of management, and the room looses a large portion of its profit.

If this is the case, sit on their right, limp in with your best hands, and then reraise their raises. On the turn or river, look for those spots where they might bluff and check your better hands to them Now you'll enjoy their bullying, but it'll probably stop as the bullies won't like being outplayed.
