GM Korea. GM Korea Company[ b] ( Korean: 한국지엠주식회사) [ c] is the South Korean subsidiary of multinational corporation General Motors and the third largest automobile manufacturer in South Korea. GM Korea's roots go back to the former Daewoo Motors vehicle brand, which was split from its parent company, Daewoo, in 2002. [ 1]
After running into financial difficulties, [3] it sold most of its assets in 2002 to General Motors at $1.2 billion, becoming a subsidiary of the American company.
