  2. Opinions about Surfline? Alternatives? : r/surfing - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/.../opinions_about_surfline_alternatives

probably the best alternative is owning a beachfront property at your local. 12. Reply. sureal_shorline. • 1 yr. ago. Every time someone posts about the surfline subscription I take the opportunity to hype it. I use it in conjunction with windy and noaa data and have scored around the world on surf trips and strike missions.

  3. It’s 2023, what are your opinions on Surfline premium nowadays?

    www.reddit.com/.../its_2023_what_are_your_opinions_on_surfline

I often call it SurfLie but still check it daily and appreciate the camera views. Been using it a long time and even used to call the 976-Surf number back in the day before the internet so I’m locked in I guess at this point. Newest version of app was a bit annoying at first but now working better. 3. Reply.

  4. Dawn Patrol vs Surfline watch app : r/surfing - Reddit

  5. How I use the Surfline forecast : r/BeginnerSurfers - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/.../jp9sif/how_i_use_the_surfline_forecast

Here is how I use the Surfline app to figure out where to go. Step 1-getting to know the spot you want to visit. The two most important items to take into account are swell direction and tide. Swell direction is important since this is where geography comes in regarding the "exposure" of a spot to swells. For instance, most of Orange County ...

  6. Is Surfline wildly wrong or am I just too stupid to understand...

    www.reddit.com/r/surfing/comments/1bgkqdn/is_surfline...

While it checks out for maybe 20-30% of the spots, the rest is all over the place. To give you an example, Surfline reports a 14.2ft swell @ 13s resulting in 15-18 faces at one spot. Looking at the forecast on Windy, it lists the swell at 1.6m (or 5ft3in) @ 7 seconds for the same spot (see screenshot for details).

  7. Can someone explain what’s going on with Surfline’s reports?

    www.reddit.com/r/surfing/comments/utlcf5/can_someone...

Surfline is a tool and like every tool ever you have to learn how to use it. They obviously dont go to every beach on the site every day and check whether their algorithm was correct lmao. Its up to the user to make sense of the charts and cams and utilize those to make the call.

  8. Magic Seaweed is now Surfline : r/surfing - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/.../12by7pt/magic_seaweed_is_now_surfline

I think on the whole, while surfline does seem to make good revenue, the space is pretty small. I used magic seaweed, because it was a free forecast for an entire week. Guess I am stuck with two days now, unless I pay $100+ a year. They were using surfline cams.

  9. Surfline is ruining my life (and my confidence in their reports)

    www.reddit.com/r/surfing/comments/cbyxp6/surfline_is...

My local spot on surfline is constantly stated as 1-2, 0-1 ft while surrounding areas may be 2-3 even 3-5 ft. Sometimes I think “Oh, the swell must be hitting the beach wrong” but nooo. The cam is misleading as its hard to get a read on wave height from far away, each time I call the local surf report stated from the lifeguard tower the ...

  10. Is there an alternative to surfline? : r/surfing - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/.../6sf9x3/is_there_an_alternative_to_surfline

Surfline always overhypes their swell reports which can disappoint when you make it out to the lineup. If Magicseaweed says its crap, well we know its crap for sure. Reply reply
