The 7 th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri, Pleasant Valley Municipal Division is an extension and qualified division of the Circuit Court of Clay County. The Municipal Court adjudicates traffic and other ordinance violations filed by the Pleasant Valley Police Department, Animal Control and Code Enforcement Officers.

James Warren Smith has been a resident of Pleasant Valley since 1993 and is a Claycomo Ford Plant retiree. He served on the Board of Aldermen as Ward 4 Alderman from 2005 through 2019. During that time he was Board President from 2012 through 2019.

Pleasant Valley has 2 parks and 2 picnic shelters. The two shelters are located in the Hanson Park behind City Hall at 6500 Royal Street; Valley Park is located along south Sobbie and has a concrete walking trail with benches. City park hours are from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. seven days a week.
