Xbox Ambassador. Replied on September 18, 2019. Report abuse. I would say that all you need to do is to connect the Powera Wired Controller to your windows 10 computer via USB cable and if it doesn't work right away, then you may need to update/install the drivers manually, this page will walk you through the process.
This is what I know: 1) I have it hooked up to my PC correctly. 2) It shows up as Xbox Gaming Device, in my Device Manager. 2a) Driver Version: 10.0.19041.610. 2b) Shows the Device is working properly. 2c) I have the most up-to-date drivers for the device.
Until now. It's a hardware problem. There is enough power to recognise the controller is attached, but at the join just before the USB, the connection is weak. Pull the cable apart and then plug back together nice and firmly and VOILA! the light comes on, it rumbles, and you are good to go. No driver issue whatsoever.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue: Check the controller settings: Make sure that your controller is recognized by your PC and that it is properly configured. It attempts to install drivers on its own but fails. I've installed the 64bit drivers manually through Xbox's website and tried to set the driver software manually through the ...
And now for the steps: Go here and download the first result. It should end with " (DFU)" and the size listed should say 1.5 MB. This is a .CAB file that contains the Xbox One controller PC drivers. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the .CAB file you downloaded and double-click it. It will present 4 files.
Open Device Manager and locate the controller. 3. Right click and navigate to Update Driver. 4. Click Browse my computer for a driver, 5. Click Let me pick from a list, 6. Look for something like the xbox one controller driver, mine was Xbox peripherals (legacy) but there are others.
To do this, install or update Xbox Accessories Apps and wired connect the controller to PC. Then, install if there is an available update. Try resetting the controller. To do this, press and hold the small button on the back of the controller for 5 seconds. Lastly, connect the controller to another device like phone or console or other PC.
Okay, no problem. I open up Windows' joystick settings for setting up wired controllers to see if it's there. Nothing is there. The computer isn't detecting this device as a controller at all (attached Screenshot 2). I open up Steam in Big Picture Mode to see if it detects the controller there. Nothing either.
