Oct 27, 2009. #3. I have three model 7s all have required extensive work to make them shoot consistently. If you are shooting a Remington tupperware stock you will need to do a lot of modification to make it cinsistent. As stated they can be made to shot a round or two then they start spraying them allover the target.
I think the 7-08 would be perfect for what the Model Seven was supposed to be. The stocks on those are not that comfortable to shoot heavier magnums. I have a Model Seven is .300 RSAUM, and I have a Remington Ti Mountain gun also in .300 RSAUM. The load I shoot in the Ti (180 gr @ 2960 fps) is punishing in the Seven.

I've read everything from 100-140 grain for deer, but seems most say the 100-125 range is sufficient for the size of the deer in Pennsylvania. I'd like to shoot something that performs well out to at least 300-400 yards.
