Dashboard Confessional is an American rock band from Boca Raton, Florida, formed in 1999 and led by singer Chris Carrabba. [1] The name of the band is derived from the song "The Sharp Hint of New Tears" off their debut album, The Swiss Army Romance .

Biography. Hawley was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. At a young age he developed a keen interest in music, taking up piano lessons at eight and guitar lessons a year later. He eventually attended the University of Southern California where he graduated with a PhD in Music. [1][2]
