Homer is a town in Cortland County, New York, United States of America. The population was 6,405 at the 2010 census. [2] The name is from the Greek poet Homer. [3] The town of Homer contains a village called Homer. The town is situated on the west border of Cortland County, immediately north of the city of Cortland .
Included within the district is the Homer Town Hall (1908), the 3 + 1 ⁄ 2-story Jebediah Barber building (1863), 3-story Brockway Block (1887–1888), and residences dating to the 1810s. Also located within the district boundaries is the U.S. Post Office (Homer, New York). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
