I took a buddy out in the bay thursday the 15th. He was very skeptical that he could catch grouper in the bay. Well in a three hour fishing trip, he boated 15 and lost thatmany or more. His best catch of the day was this 24 inch grouper. He's a beliver now.

The bay reef is similar to the LS (a little more of a V hull) and the 239 is truly getting offshore capable but $80,000 +++ and no shallow draft like the carolina skiff. It was nice last month near Cape San Blas to get out in calf deep water. And pull the boat close to shore without running risk of getting it stuck.

But weather improving from early to late. Deployed the wind sock and still drifted at a brisk 1.2 to 1.3 mph. But every 30 minutes or so you could see the speed dropping and the waves were shrinking. About 1030 drift was 0.3 to 0.4 mph and waves were just a nice "walleye chop" to quote an old fishing buddy of mine.

Head north from Indian pass boat ramp. There is a maze of oyster bars that hold more redfish and black drum, but trout and flounder are in there as well.
