Join members of the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform the national anthem at Coors Field for the Colorado Rockies game on Friday, August 9th, 2024. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM, with the national anthem performance happening prior to the start.
We’re honored to be an internationally award-winning community orchestra serving musicians in and around Denver. Helmed by Music Director Lawrence Golan , approximately 80% of our musicians are volunteer — they serve our community as doctors, lawyers, architects and teachers in their “day jobs.”

This season, we’re celebrating the return of live music with epic collaborations, titanic symphonies, international artists and a big ol’ birthday party! Indulge in the elation of familiar favorites like Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and new-to-you masterpieces like the U.S. premiere of Sergiu Celibidache’s The Pocket Garden.

We’ll be taking the celebration across the pond to Munich, Germany. An encore of this performance will be performed in collaboration with the chorus of our transatlantic sister orchestra, the Bavarian Philharmonic, on July 16, 2022.

With 75 seasons under our belt, we may be one of Denver’s oldest orchestras, but we certainly don’t act our age. Dr. Antonia Brico, the first woman to conduct the New York Philharmonic Orchestra (in 1938), founded our organization in 1948 as the Denver Businessmen’s Orchestra.
