The primary purpose of the Zoning Department is to administer and enforce the Zoning Regulations of the Borough. The Department guides public and private development through planning & development policies and review standards in order to create and maintain a balanced community.
Payments – The Borough of Point Pleasant has approved an interest rate of 8% per annum on the first $1,500 of delinquency; 18% on balances in excess of $1,500. The 18% interest rate remains in place until taxes are brought current.
Point Pleasant is governed under the Borough form of New Jersey municipal government. The governing body consists of a Mayor and a Borough Council, which is composed of six members. All positions are elected at-large on a partisan basis as part of the November general election.

Point Pleasant Borough has grown tremendously since it’s incorporation in 1920. Originally regarded as a summer resort community we are now a bustling, year round community of approximately 19,000 residents, with two elementary schools, a middle school, and the Point Pleasant Borough High School.
