Almost every other Catan client out there makes my eyes bleed. A good Catan game lasts at least an hour or two, and the "official" Java client is hideous, even by 1998 Yahoo! Games standards. The best I've seen is the Xbox Live Arcade version, and even that one doesn't have a lot of options, and only supports the basic game.
It also resets the time used even if you fiddle with it. So, the lesson is, never use Launch.exe to run Catan. Only use Catan.exe. True, this won't allow for online play (as far as I know). But since online play doesn't seem to be much of an option right now, it probably won't matter. And I forgot to mention the lack of hot-seat play in my review.
