I'm shocked. I'm using the Youtube app in Windows 11 and it sounds better than when I play Youtubes in Edge, which is the worst, and Brave which is better than Edge. There's less pops, ticks, studders, etc. It sounds more fluid to me.
35 votes, 57 comments. true. Desktop app isn't a wrapper if you want functions like always start with pc, start minimized, run in the background, and other useful funcctions that chrome progressive web apps don't have (though they have their own strengths).

Cause I use it YTM but with the PWA app shortcut. Most of the controls are roughly the same as the Android app now I believe, including cast. 48 votes, 27 comments. After years now I can use YT Music "natively" in windows, thats perfect, thx windows 11.

It will install as a progressive web app (PWA), receive automatic updates the same time as the web interface, and have all the same functions as the web interface (including uploading). There was a Windows app for Google Play Music, I think it was called gmusic, but the only thing that added was playback control with media keys.
Brilliant display of how YouTube invented winui3 before Microsoft. This only needs small tweaks now, like allowing the left pane to be collapsed, and making the header do fancy transparency things when you scroll down. For the record, I’ve seen concepts like this before, when windows Vista was new with Aero.
