How does Walmart grocery delivery work and how should tipping be done? So just recently I was gifted a Walmart Plus subscription to help me with groceries since I have so little time these days. However I have been hesitant to use it yet because I am unsure of how the order procurement and tipping should work with it.
Both Walmart SC & NHM count as Grocery Target was Other bc it was a “discount store” on my CFU Visa two years ago. Last year it coded as Grocery on my Discover, but that is a different payment network. So it’s possible that it changed, but there’s no DPs confirming that yet. I prob won’t be at a Target again until Dec
It's area dependent for sure. I've been using scan and go since it was released at my home Walmart with no issues. I visited my mom A few weeks ago and used it in the Walmart near her in a lower income area. The door checker accused me of stealing a 12 pack of soda after looking over my receipt.
Anything done online, even if you set the pickup location to a Walmart grocery rather than super Walmart, will code as ‘general merchandise’ and won’t get 4x. Buying food at the super Walmarts will also code as ‘general merchandise’. In person, green Walmart. Edit since you edited- ya looks like you are SOL on that one, sorry to say.
Just signed up for the free trial for Walmart Plus. I’ve done Grocery Pickup primarily since the pandemic started and only have gone into the store once, and that was for the pharmacy. The time saved by getting deliveries will be huge. However, I’m confused about being asked to tip the driver for the delivery.
Walmart uses door dash or grub for walmart.com orders that are in large areas such as Chicago. Many times I have ordered birthday or Christmas gifts for my son and family and they are delivered like that. Now grocery delivery is different they are a third party contracted through Walmart to hire drivers to deliver.
Unless Walmart has something the other grocery stores don't I see no reason to grocery shop at Walmart other than GMO filled "great value" garbage. P.s. I stopped shop and deliver because the store is always out of stock of something and Walmart app is shit and has us shop either hours after you expected delivery or hours before.
I've seen mixed inputs so tested myself. Confirmed that Walmart online grocery codes at "US Supermarkets" and earns 6% - great options since there is a lot available and avoids the acid reflux of having to go into the store.
I definitely see why there are delivery problems. Walmart and the delivery companies need to up driver pay, they can afford it! And people need to tip delivery drivers too. Walmart doesn't let you add a tip with your debit/credit card when you pay for groceries with EBT so that's probably why people aren't tipping.
