Human gammaherpesvirus 8. Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus ( KSHV) is the ninth known human herpesvirus; its formal name according to the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) is Human gammaherpesvirus 8, or HHV-8 in short.
