I bought a 10-ride ticket for $91 that expired in February . It had two unused rides on it. I sent it in for a refund hoping to get 2*9.1 minus the $10
The monthly pass is for both ways. You can ride the train as often as you like in between Westport and GCT. If you bought a pack of 10 trips - those are one way but the monthly pass is like an unlimited metro card - except for in between 2 particular stations.
You are correct, but I think it actually was a "regular" stop until the late 70s/early 80s My guess not counting this and the "hiker" stations is a tie between either the Dutchess Co. stations of the Harlem Line (which unlike the ends of the Hudson and New Haven lines or the New Haven branch lines (like near Danbury and Waterbury) is in a fairly unpopulated area) or the Tremont and Melrose ...

Metro-North is not 24/7? That's news to me. I thought that, in the past, I had researched ALL the trains serving the greater Downstate New York region and found that the Metro North system did run 24/7 (i.e., there was still "some" degree of train service in the middle-of-the-night -- between 12:30 am and the 5:30 - 6 am time that the train service resumes running more frequently).

Is there more than one Metro North station in Brewster? Yes, Brewster and Southeast. The former is in the village, and if you leave early in the morning you can get a metered space very close to the station. Southeast has a much larger parking lot, but it is so expansive that you may have to build in extra walking time to catch your train!
The Metro North website does not seem to give a definite maximum luggage size. The site mentions that luggage must either go under the seat or in an overhead bin. Does anyone have any knowledge if a suitcase larger than the typical airline carry-on would be permited ?
I could work 9-5 or 10:30-6:30. Perhaps I could avoid daily drive to New Rochelle by taking a 81 min train from Milford, as per Metro North Schedule, which could enable me to do some work or research on train which I do anyway once I get home. Then drive 15 minutes from the train station in Milford to the house in Orange.
Metro North is a separate system from the Subway , so you need to buy a Metro North pass on top of the Subway Metrocard. 05-10-2011, 08:16 PM nyc227
