    www.reddit.com/r/publix/comments/o9vlhq/whats_up_with_people_thinking_publix_is

The thing about Publix is that people hate the hypocrisy of a company that is worker owned and allegedly prides itself on being an amazing place to work as suddenly treating its workers like the expendable garbage they are, instead of valuing them. This is why so many long time Publix employees are quitting.

But understand Publix was once a company focused on treating their employees like owners. Doing the right thing, producing the highest quality product. It is now a company focused on maximizing quarterly profits at the expense of the employees and at the expense of quality. Publix will sell you crap now to make a dollar.

Publix is finally at a point where it’s being recognized and identified by people from places where there isn’t a Publix. Look at Walmart’s expansion, it was contained to Arkansas and the surrounding states, then exploded after it became nationally recognized. Bide your time. Marking time in Memphis is a tough gig.

Former top out was 21.20 now 21.75. Went from $14 to $24 by promoting myself to customer. Publix is great until payday. Pharmacy hourly positions not being on the retail hourly pay scale could be a change to separate retail and pharmacy, or there is not enough room on the pay scale to list the positions and pay ranges.

Which is pretty low for Publix. Other publications in other years have seen it get as high as 8ish% which is insanely high for a grocery store. Pay scale just changed so you’re going to see baggers getting hired on at $13 and clerks in produce/grocery at $13.50-14.00 with no experience.

Unless you REALLY need the money, I would leave it in the Publix stock or have them give it to you in a direct lump sum rollover to be placed in a 401k or other retirement account. (You can open a low cost, online investment account for free and have Publix send a check or electronic disbursement directly to the new account, which means you don ...
