Now I'm getting scared it may not start at all. I figure it's losing it's prime and the cranking is necessary to get the fuel back up to the cp3.

If the gas cap leaks air, then the fuel can push the air out of the tank, and viola, you lose prime. 108 posts · Joined 2014. #20 ·Oct 26, 2014. If you are having starting issues I highly recommend you replace the Fuel Filter Vacuum Minder Switch! I recently had trouble with my 2011 Lml having long cranks at startup. Rebuilt the Fuel Filter Primer, Replaced the WIF sensor and the bleeder screw.

If you want to test the fuel system on the engine, you have to disconnect both the fuel feed and return quick connect fittings at the driver side rear of the engine. Plug off the return side, and apply vacuum of 25" hg to the system, or apply up to 10 psi to look for leaks.
