Sellers can list the watch at a low price just to attract offers. Since Chrono24 doesn't allow you to change your offer once it's sent, your first offer must be your highest.

And now Chrono24 wants buyers to pay a 5% "sales" fee. This is obnoxious. My feeling is that the nominal payer of the fee really doesn't matter in the long run, what's more important is the total amount of all fees and taxes. On eBay, sellers pay the fees, at auctions, buyers pay the fees (or mostly, at least).

At the risk of over-simplifying the situation, there are tax rates on the case, tax rates on the strap (if it's croc or alligator you need a CITES tag to get the strap through Customs) or bracelet, and tax rates on the movement.
