Noble Sissle was an American jazz composer, lyricist, bandleader, singer, and playwright, best known for the Broadway musical Shuffle Along (1921). He also served in the New York 369th Infantry Band during World War I and collaborated with Eubie Blake and other artists.

[ 1 ] [ 2 ] The album was her fourth overall, and her third for Colpix ; it was also her second live album, following on from Nina Simone at Town Hall (1959) released at the end of the previous year.
