Windows has always had poor PDF support and that does not seem to have improved in Windows 11. I have tried both the built-in "Windows Fax and Scan" app and the "Windows Scan" app from the Windows Store. Neither of them will scan multiple pages to a PDF file which seriously is the most basic requirement for a scanner app in 2022.
How does one scan documents to PDF with Windows Fax & Scan? In the event that the App does not have this function, which free third-party apps would be most compatible with Windows 10? Please advise.

There was an obvious lack of a PDF choice after I received a couple of updates from Windows 10. I have tried new drivers download for Windows, AND my printer. That didn't help. (BTW-Windows 10 users shouldn't have to use a separate ' Windows Fax and Scan' when Windows 10 had the PDF scan capability on initial set-up. Please advise.
Hi Everyone - Possibly a very simple questions to those who know, previously on Windows 7 when I scanned a document from my wireless printer to my lap top the scan used to go into "my documents folder". Now in Windows 10 it seems to put the scan into any obscure folder attached to "my document folder" therefore hard to find after scanning.

Windows Fax and Scan doesn't have pdf format. It is also only for really old scanners that don't have scanning software to install so that they can scan bi-directionally from the Printer top. Have you checked your scanner's Support Downloads web page to see if it has a software package to install to give it fuller functionality?
