Hello All, I have been retired since 10/31/2017 and still have not received retirement pay. DFAS is telling me that due to the 1204 code, I am not entitled to CRDP. Please help! I have my 20 year letter with 23 good years for retirement, 14+ years active duty, and 35 years under contract without a break in service.

So, I’m medically retired with 6 years of active duty service. My retirement date was March 28, 2022. I had a VA proposed rating of 100% and until now I still haven’t received a VA decision letter. This morning I receive a direct deposit from DFAS for retirement pay.

Like many I waived retirement pay to receive VA Compensation. As a reservist I was not entitled to retirement pay until the age of 60, and my 20+ years only added up to about 11.5 AD years. Strangely, my retired pay amount at DFAS shows my retirement pay at $3458 monthy, which is correct for an AD retiree in my paygrade. Can anyone exlain that?

Also, DFAS should send you a letter showing exactly how your pay was calculated. It will show both methods that they used to calculate your pay: your base pay times disability % vs the 2.5 times years of service times retired base pay method. You are paid the amount that is more advantageous to the member.
