    Located in Bridgeton’s city park, which spans over 1,100 acres, the zoo is home to over 100 different mammals, birds, and reptiles. Over 45 different species from all around the world are represented here. The Zoo, originally named the “Bridgeton Zoo”, was later named the Cohanzick Zoo in 1972.

    The Bengal is considered the second largest tiger, rivaled only by the Siberian tiger. Males can grow up to about 10.5 feet long, and weigh nearly 650 pounds, whereas females can grow to about 9 feet long, and 400 pounds. Poaching and habitat destruction are the biggest threats to the population remaining in the wild.

    Zoo Camp is back and registration is now open.! This program is appropriate for ages 5-14, with each age group assigned to a specific week: Ages 5 and 6: July 8th -12th. Ages 7 and 8: July 15th -19th. Ages 9,10, and 11: July 22nd - 26th. Ages 12, 13, and 14: July 29th - Aug. 2nd. There are two time slots to choose from. 8am-12pm. 1pm-5pm

    Run for the Animals is a fun, family friendly event to benefit the Cohanzick Zoo. Join us for our inaugural event on September 30th! Participants can choose between a 5K run, or 1 mile walk. Registration fee for either is $35.
