I have tried the following troubleshooting steps & they have not worked 1) Preview pane in Explorer turned on/off 2) Adobe reader "Enable PDF thumbnails previews" unchecked & re-checked. 3) uninstall/re-install Adobe reader. 4) went to Adobe program file setting & selected run in "compatibility mode" forWindow 8.

Acrobat Reader does not have all the features that the paid for versions of Acrobat have. There are additional packages available that can add more features to Reader but you will need to purchase those packages and even if you purchased all them, you still would not have Acrobat and you would have paid more than the cost of Acrobat.
