The arc adapted in the Mugen Train movie is being readapted into an anime series. What they’re basically doing is spacing out the 2 hour long movie into episodes, adding some extra scenes, and even added an anime-original prologue episode. They claim they’re doing this to bridge the gap between seasons 1 and 2 together.
Episode 1 is new, watch that first. 2-7 or movie doesn't matter, they are near identical. If you are planning on binging go with the movie. I've watched both and I say the TV series is better (probably because of recency bias). But I think it's better to watch DS as an anime with multiple season.

It feels like Demon Slayer "just started" but in reality this is kinda going to be like AoT where this is the build up for the final season, and the final season is supposed to be crazy. Not that this training arc won't be enjoyable or have value, just that it's all setting up the final arc.
The rest episodes, 2-7 is pretty much Mugen Train movie with the Taisho Era Secret Thing. The Mugen Train arc was televised just because Mugen Train released in 2020, and people may forget about it. So it acted as a catch up and also for the people who didn't get to see the movie and so people don't miss an arc because it's not an episodic.
Anyway the quality available for that movie right now is only CAM version. Wait few days/week, higher quality is not available anywhere at the moment. It's a theatre release, right? So there is no point unless a Blu-ray version is out which usually takes 8-12 months. Unless you're fine with CAM prints.

Politely, they explicitly stated "this is just s2e10+11 and a 3 week preview watch of s3e1" when they announced the event, and all the advertising leading up to it. If you didn't read anything about it, saw "demon slayer movie" and walked in expecting mugen train levels of everything, yeah you would be disappointed.
