You wrote nearly 340 words. The minimum is 250. You will not lose points for writing more; however, longer essays generally do not get high band scores. And there are many reasons for this. First, the longer the essay, the more chances you have to make errors, and you will lose points for each of those errors.
#1 is more concise, so I prefer it. However, I think "missing" may work better than "lost" in both.
Normally, when I have characters say numbers, I write them out in words, for example "100" would simply be "one hundred." However, I make exceptions when they have to quote something like Scripture, because I don't want it to get too messy in writing all that out in words.
