From what I saw, it has to be found. There was one at a pillager outpost on pixlriffs run through. That's the neat part, you don't! You have to find it in villages or outposts. Once you have 4 you can make more with just 4 planks.
Then craft the crafting upgrade with a crafting table on top of a blank upgrade. Finally, using a smithing table put your backpack, crafting upgrade, and one leather to use a crafting table in your backpack. The crafting window is going to be right under the backpack settings gear.
I have a modded server running 1.16.5, and I'm having an issue with the crafting table not showing the result of the crafting recipe. I've attached a photo of what I'm talking about, as well as the mods being used. This is a server only issue as I've tested it in singleplayer, and the problem doesn't exist. Any help is appreciated. No other usable block lags/slows down. Minecraft bedrock v1.19.41 on xbox 1S. Crafting table while in split screen is lagging anytime a player moves there cursor in the crafting menu. Crafting an item is worse and crafting a stack of items is almost a full second of lag.

Can’t use crafting table. I’m using All the mods 4 fabric edition, but I can craft anything in the crafting table. Portable version and placed down nothing is coming out the other end. I’m doing the right recipes, and even used REI. The only I can craft rn is planks. I did add a few mods but idk which one is causing it.
Freezing when trying to use crafting table. My friend and I are trying to play on a modded server together, all the mods work together with no issues, but whenever my friend tries to open a crafting table her game freezes, this doesn't happen to me. and this doesn't happen to her when she plays single player with the same mods, she has 8 gigs ...
The EnderIO storage setups are my favorite. 3 quick mods spring to mind: Applied energistics and Refined Storage have "virtual storage" with build in crafting grid option. Tinkers Construct's crafting table when next chest will show the inventory of the chest when you open the crafting grid.
I put together a custom mod pack for 1.19.2 using the CurseForge app. The one thing that I'm missing is something akin to the crafting table from Tinkers Construct, which shows the contents of chests next to it, and pulls from them for crafting.
