  7. Here are things I've tried: Selected all emails and marked as 'unread' then marked them as 'Read'. Booted into Safe Mode and did same as above. Rebuilt all four email accounts in both normal and Safe mode. Created new mailbox and moved all email messages out of the Inbox. At this point I don't know what else to try.

  8. Posted on Dec 1, 2022 6:49 PM. Please try tapping the icon at the bottom left of the Mail Inbox screen you have not already done so. It is a blue, round circle with 3 horizontal lines. It shows filters email to show just unread ones. View in context.

  9. Both the badge on the app icon and the app itself on my 3rd gen iPad says my gmail account has 3 unread emails. I've checked multiple times, and I can find none unread. When I look at the account on both my desktop and my iPhone, they register none unread. When I delete the account on my iPad, the badge goes away and everything is fine.

  10. Gmail was showing zero unread. Apple was showing 1 unread. However, I think Gmail was lying. I went to Gmail > Settings > Inbox Type > Unread first . There was an email from 07/17/2020 unread. Even though Gmail wasn’t showing it as unread, Apple detected it. I marked the 2020 email as read in Gmail, and Apple Mail is now happy and at zero ...

  11. The best solution I found is to scroll to the bottom of the messages, right down the first message (this may take a while if you have many messages), then click on the 3 dots on the top right corner and ‘Select messages’, then click on ‘Read all’ at the bottom left.
