Since its founding by Murray and Margaret Dryden in 1970, Sleeping Children Around the World has helped nurture the potential of children, raising over $60 million for bedkits in 36 countries. 54 years later, our global community of volunteers has helped over 1.8 million children.
The commitment of over 2000 volunteers worldwide enables Sleeping Children Around the World to realize the vision of a world in which every child begins a day of hope after a good night’s sleep. Volunteerism also allows Sleeping Children to keep its promise that 100% of every bedkit donation reaches a child in need.
The Canadian and Sri Lankan teams will have many, many, memories of these past two weeks . . . children walking home with their bedkits; parent conversations out of the sun in the shade of a tree; that final 7,000th bedkit; and the hand waving thanks as a bus takes the children home.
