13224 posts · Joined 1999. #1 · Nov 23, 2023. For those folks that have the Gen 5 version of the G23 I'd like to get your feedback. Haven't owned a G23 in quite a few years, last one was a Gen 3. While it was fine, I don't care for the finger grooves in the compact/subcompact Glocks. Since the Gen 5 has eliminated them it is of interest again.

The grip shape and particularly the Gen5 trigger, which I think is the best Glock has ever put in a street pistol, are endearing.
However, if you have the Gen 3, then the Gen 4-5 will feel smaller like the G21SF. When GLOCK went to Gen 4 it started with a 0.08”shorter frame (from backstrap to trigger) than the G21 Gen 3. 3704 posts · Joined 2006. #35 · May 28, 2024 (Edited) The Gen 3's are proven without a doubt. The Gen4's have a slightly smaller grip, and the Gen 5's incorporate the smaller grip, no finger humps, marksman barrels, and redesigned internals for better long term durability, or so Glock says.

Instead of using the Zev connector, I use the factory connector. "History began on July 4th, 1776. Everything before that was a mistake". Collo Rosso and Brewtactical.

854 posts · Joined 2005. #3 · Oct 29, 2023. I disagree.I prefer the gen 3 trigger over thee gen 5. To me the gen 5 trigger feels like a 3 stage trigger. There are 2 walls to pull through, the first is when the shark fin engages the firing pin block and the second when the shot breaks.
