Feb 5, 2017. #3. Jay laid it out for you perfectly. You must meet each school's admission requirements to be considered for admission, and most schools list a minimum GPA of 3.0 as one of their requirements. I would suggest taking a year to retake prerequisite courses and getting no less than A's.

I am doing so because I feel I have too low of GRE scores and don't make the minimum requirement for a lot of schools. 143 Verbal/148 Quantitative/4.0 Analytical Writing. My undergrad cumGPA is 3.3.

I feel this will give me a better chance of acceptance and I wish to have more than one option. If anyone knows more, please let me know.
Also, UTSW and Baylor are either 1 or 2 for basically every residency in Texas, with several being some of the best in the US (e.g. IM at Parkland or peds at TCH). 3-4: McGovern and Long are both well respected schools, with fantastic clinical and research opportunities.
