Experian is total garbage. Former employer had a breach of security in which my name and Social Security number was released. I was given a free membership to Experian ID works. I signed up for it and saw that there were $90,000 worth of loans as well as three credit cards that did not belong to me on the report.
You will need to contact the dispute department at 800-493-1058. When calling this number you should be able to use the following prompts to connect with a live agent. UPDATE: For anyone else looking for help who may get caught in Experian's hellish phone system, I was finally able to resolve my issues by contacting Experian help on Twitter -- @experianhelp_us (send a DM). If you're not a Twitter user, they also responded to an email to: support@experiandirect.com But the email responses were slower.
Why is my Experian score so much lower than my other two scores. I have been checking my credit once my student loans were paid off and all my credit scores went up. I had my eyes on Chase, Capital One, Citi, NFCU .... And they ALL pull something else or a mixture :/ .. (I've already done heavy research in that master thread here that has the grid, on doctor of credit etc). Tried to join Unify, got declined due to chexsystems issue (tried to get reconsideration done twice, they won't budge).
Experian is aware of a recently-launched scam in which fraudulent emails are claiming to be from "Experian" (credit.report@experian.com). This email is in no way associated with Experian. DO NOT OPEN THIS EMAIL OR ITS ATTACHMENT. DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY. The email is a very convincing replica of an Experian alert.
The agent said that yes, this is a legitimate Experian website, but this is the free website used when there is a company's data breach and they want to offer complimentary credit monitoring. usaexperian.com is separate where you can setup a free account and pay to have credit monitoring, but won't be able to use the complimentary code that was ...
