Since our founding in 1956, before Singapore was even independent, Singapore American School has been on the leading edge of preparing students for their future. When we opened our doors with just 105 students, our first classes were held in large colonial-style bungalows.

In 1956, Singapore American School opened with 105 students learning in a tropical bungalow. After 60 years, an outstanding group of dedicated teachers holding 23 different passports has replaced the original faculty of ten American mothers, most of whom were volunteers.
