Just another 'perk' of living in the wilds of South Carolina, but we have to drive 50+ miles to get to a theater that shows any of the Fathom events. Would love to see many of the older films or Rifftrax, but the 2-hour roundtrip on a weeknight usually convinces us not to go.
I attended a Fathom screening of the 1983 slasher movie The House on Sorority Row a few years ago. It's a very good movie, and I was excited to see the film in a theater, as its not revived often, even in horror fandom circles (theatrical prints may not have survived).
lol dvds on a movie screen. Probably using this to judge if the DVD set should be released on Blu-ray....and of course when people don't waste their money spending stupid amounts of it at Fathom events prices, they'll go "see, nobody wants this."
Appearantly Fathom Events is advertising a June 22, 23 & 24 cinema screening for LOTR - Extended Editions: Fathom Events and Warner Bros. Announce Extended Dates for Peter Jackson’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy - Boxoffice
So I wrote to Fathom events the week the movie was shown and asked if they had any extra posters...I got a reply that they did not have any but if one showed up they would send me one. So almost 3 weeks later I get a fed ex delivery and I got a mint copy of the 40th Grease poster.

But it may well be that this is not going to even get the "Fathom Events" level type of bookings for movie theaters that even "Rockshow" or "The Rooftop Concert" got. balzac , Aug 7, 2024 #16880
Just caught this from the industry newsletter The Dailies: Apple is clarifying its broader film strategy moving forward: Remember when the tech giant pulled a switcheroo on ‘Wolfs,’ (that Clooney-Pitt flick) yanking it from wide release to a one-week theatrical run before hitting streaming?
But those TCM/Fathom events-many of the movies we would love to see-have not been captioned,at least that has been our experience. We once did get passes for a future movie, but another reason to see a TCM/Fathom event is that my wife has seen the movie in the past and knowing what is going on helps in watching the movie.
Not sure what the market would be for theatrical releases of concerts from Ye Olden Dayes, though - beyond 1 or 2 screening "Fathom Events" style stuff, that is. Oatsdad , Jan 3, 2024 #90
