The proper citation of Wikipedia, the site, as referenced in APA 5th Edition Style is: Wikipedia: The free encyclopedia. (2004, July 22). FL: Wikimedia Foundation, Inc. Retrieved August 10, 2004, from https://www.wikipedia.org. The in-text citation formation would be (Wikipedia, 2004).
The example here will show you how to cite a newspaper article using the { { cite news }} template (see Citation quick reference for other types of citations). If you have a URL (web page) link, you can add it to the title part of the citation, so that when you add the citation to Wikipedia the URL becomes hidden and the title becomes clickable. To do this, enclose the URL and the title in square brackets—the URL first, then a space, then the title. For example:
