On the left hand side (columns A-D) it has the "complete" list of Arizona cities + zips, in the middle (columns J, K) is a list of AZ cities that I want to match up with the zip codes from the "complete" list. On the right hand side (columns P-S) is a part of the result I want to end up with.
I'm trying to get the City and State info from Sheet2, to show up in Sheet1 next to my Zip Code. So basically I need to search Sheet2 and if it finds a match, take that City and State info and put it next to my Zip Code in Sheet1. I'm an Excel newbie. I don't know how to use VLOOKUP so I tried using the Match and Index method I found on another ...
It will create a concatenated list of cities and states that you can use to lookup. =A2&E2 Then on Sheet1 in cell C2 you can use the following formula to find the matching zip code: =INDEX(Sheet2!B:B,MATCH(A2&B2,Sheet2!H:H,0)) Fill that down column C as far as necessary to get the rest of your zip codes.
I have a list of zip codes and I want to convert it to a City and State. I have a master list of Zip Codes and their corresponding City and States. zip_code_image.JPG I have attached an image above ^ that hopefully shows this. I assume I would have to use VLOOKUP or INDEX(MATCH)? Thanks for any help and hopefully the image gives enough information.

Create a table of zip codes, cities, and states, and use VLOOKUP. Big table -- 33000+ zip codes in the US. Also, many zip code span multiple cities, and some (e.g., 10004, 37642, 38852) span two states.
If you have all zip code list you can download USA zip code data base & using index match formula you can get result. I have one sheet that has a list of zip codes with the corresponding city and states set up with the zips in column a, cities in column b, and states in column c. I want to make a list of my customers but there are so many and instead of typing the cities and states I want them to autofill when I type in the zip code.
Right now I have things set up by month in sheets, with an additional sheet containing zip codes and their corresponding city/state info. If it helps at all, the month columns are Date, FirstName, LastName, Address1, Address2, Zipcode, City, State. The zip code data sheet columns are set up as Zipcode, City, and State.
