2.7K votes, 816 comments. true. I doubt it. The anti-adblock thing is clumsy, and reeks of some idiot mid-level employee deciding they know better than everyone else.
chrismatic promptly added donate buttons and a "made with love by Chris" note. gorhill took exception to this and asked chrismatic to change the name so people didn't confuse uBlock (the original, now called uBlock Origin) and uBlock (chrismatic's version). Google took down gorhill's extension.
YES, use firefox android and you can install ublock origin, I can't imagine the internet without it :) just remember that when you open links in gmail, it has a built in browser, so you actually have to click the options and then click to open in firefox. every time. Reply reply. sip0lan.
Solved. Ok so Ublock (Adblock) crashed and now I can't do anything on chrome at all. This shows up when I search and it says "Ublock has crashed klick the balloon to reload" but when I do Ublock doesn't even show up as an asset at all. And I can't google it up because I can't use chrome and we tried on edge but it doesn't give us any answers ...
As others have said, I also deactivate the uBlock extension in Chrome and activate it again, after which all pages work. Not always, but almost always, it works that way. After restarting Chrome, the pages cannot be accessed again (and I can't click on the uBlock icon either). Chrome 123.0.6312.123 uBlock 1.57.0 macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (23E224)
Firefox + uBlock Origin loads forbes.com in 10 seconds while Chrome loads it in 20 seconds. The internet is soooooo much slower on Android Chrome than on Android Firefox :( Reply reply
Open it and go to the "Settings" pane. Scroll down and click "Back up to file". Then search in all the config if you haven't added new filters or rules recently. As a last resort you might want to click "Reset to default settings..." in the "Settings" pane. (if you have saved your settings to a file) 2. Award.
Why would you want to jump ships to a another browser made by a company that'll sell your data anyways ? you might as well just not use ublock if your going to be using firefox, chrome ,opera, ect. Sure you wont get "ads" but tracking data, ect will still go through the browser itsself. Since Ublock isnt 100% sadly.
An efficient blocker add-on for various browsers. Fast, potent, and lean. WARNING: Fake uBlock Extension on the Chrome Webstore with 600,000+ Users. Hey Devs! LINK (Do not download, obviously). There is a COMPLETE ripoff of uBlock Origin on the Chrome Webstore that has fooled a lot of people.
