I typed a long, 400 word paragraph analyzing a lengthy book and did not use AI. I wanted to try GPTZero because I was hearing a lot about it and admit I use ChatGPT to help me certain things, but did not need it for this assignment as it was straightforward and I did not have any struggles with the assignment.
GPTZero is a software developed by a Princeton University student that uses statistical analysis to detect whether a text was written by a human or copied from an AI content generator like ChatGPT. The tool can detect AI-generated content with high accuracy, but it also flags content written by humans as "written by AI" even when it's not.

I FOUND THE BEST WAY TO GET AROUND GPTZERO After putting in a specific prompt, write "Vary sentence length and structure, and try to not repeat words or phrases", then check to make sure it passes. If not, go back and onto a new line and write "condense into ___ sentences/paragraphs".
First time posting on Reddit BUT I NEED to know. If gptzero marked my essay as 18% chance the entire text is ai generated (marked every sentence but it says “mix of human and text” but only says 18% chance written by ai.

In case you weren’t aware, GPTZero detects things written by GPT by measuring its perplexity score. The lower the perplexity score, the more likely it is to be written by a human. The solution to getting around this is to ask ChatGPT to write whatever you want written with a low perplexity score.
