The Mets' uniform set in 1962.The primary-logo sleeve patch was added to the home jersey in 1963; numerals appeared on the front of both jerseys beginning in 1965. The original Mets uniforms from 1962 were of essentially the same design as the team's current primary home and road uniforms. [20]
The logo decal was set horizontally beginning in 1972. When a Sonny Werblin -led syndicate purchased the team prior to the 1963 season and renamed it the Jets, the entire uniform was redesigned and replaced.
