For your 30 gallon: I like the firefish. Don't like the coral beauty, for size reasons. You did mention having a wrasse instead. Lubbock's fairy is small enough, easily found, and some of them are really pretty. A possum or pink-streaked wrasse would be another option.

If you were to try to add one to a 30 gallon, we would recommend getting a smaller sized dwarf angel, be sure it has plenty of live rock to graze on and hide in, and know that as it gets bigger, you may need to move it to a larger tank. The smaller the tank, the more likely you will be to have aggression issues with other livestock in the tank.

Royal gramma great for that size and cool color. If you can find a possum wrasse also cool for that size tank. Designer clowns. I like Citron gobies or panda gobies. You've got lots of options.
