I started with a $200 limit on my Old Navy card. I got the limit raised to $2,000 via chat about three months later. When my TU score went over 700, I got the limit raised to $10,000. It now sits at $5,000 (via a request for a CLD since I couldn't buy $10,000 worth of clothes for myself in a lifetime).
Just a FYI - I read in WSJ that GAP/Old Navy is leaving Synchrony and headed to Barclay. Since it is known that Barclay cards require a hard pull for CL increases, it is best to try to raise your limits now before the move.
This is hubbys card. He’s had some good upgrades on his cards lately . He’s had the old navy card for about 3 years . It’s used in the fall and spring for kids clothes . Limit is 6000 right now . Got letter in the mail last week that his card will be upgraded to a visa in September . Stoked to have it upgraded!

I applied online for the old navy card today and it said they would send a letter within 7-10 days. So I took the advice here and called to see what was up. They asked me a few security questions and then said that I was denied for the visa card I applied for but they would open the old navy store card 250.00.
Re: Old Navy credit score Low to mid 600's ought to get you a small starting limit of 2-400, but it'll grow quick if you take care of your bills and follow the advice on here. Good Luck!
They do, but it's by invitation only. No rhyme or reason when these upgrades are targeted, unfortunately. An item to keep in mind, if it matters to you and in the event an upgrade is offered, they'll close the store card and the upgraded Visa will report as a new account - history of store card doesn't transfer over to the Visa.
Re: Old Navy card pre-approval Should be pre-approved but some of these type store cards can have very low limits and very high APR. The last thing you want to do to rebuild credit is open up 10 store cards with $200 limits.
