I've checked the "Start-up" tab under Task Manager, the "Services" tab in msconfig, and the startup folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup) but there's an app that keeps coming up whenever I boot (Patriot Dashboard) that's not listed in any of those places.
Click "Start", type "Control Panel", and press Enter to bring up the old Control Panel app. Go to Programs > Programs and Features. Those pesky applications will likely be listed there too. Click the problem application's entry, then "Uninstall" in the bar above the list.

After I remove the Windows Appx package with the above Remove-AppxPackage commands - I run the FREE version of CCleaner to uninstall any remaining apps. Some Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 default apps have no uninstall option whatsoever. Maps for example, is built in. This is where CCleaner can help.
