I thought the screen on the 5th gen Touch and presumably the 6th was the same as the iPhones 5. I have a 64 GB 5th gen (Nov 2012) and just can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger on the 6th. I know I'd appreciate the additional speed and 512 MB RAM, and the 128 GB model is tempting. However, I really wanted Touch ID, GPS, and a larger screen.

Sure. I also have an iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 and it is equally as fast in my opinion. My old iPod touch 5g was getting really slow and laggy and the new iPod flies in comparison. I read with the new A8 processor that it runs roughly ten times faster. It is almost as fast as my iPhone 6.

Is the 6th generation the latest generation? Today small sizes for console quality games can literally be a gig or more, and the console quality games can be 5 gigs. Movies are also huge, esp. if you get the hd versions (Around 1.5 gigs or more). Unless you play nothing but casual games and those music files are low quality, I would say no.
Traverse said: If you want a device dedicated to Music, the iPod touch 7th generation is a decent choice. I bought one for that use not to save phone batter, but just because it made me happy to have a device with everything disabled except for music. The only caveat is that battery life is fine, but not iPhone levels.
Greetings, I'm considering getting either an iPad Mini or an iPod Touch. It's difficult because the bigger screen on the mini of course makes browsing easier, but the portability of the iPod is definitely very convenient. However, I'm not able to find any good info on the sixth generation's battery life.
