Laguna Copperplate Inscription. The Laguna Copperplate Inscription ( Filipino: Inskripsyón sa binatbát na tansô ng Laguna) is an official acquittance ( debt relief) certificate inscribed onto a copper plate in the Shaka year 822 ( Gregorian A.D. 900). It is the earliest-known, extant, calendar-dated document found within the Philippines.
In Tagalog and Filipino, however, the day-month-year notation is the format as adapted from the Spanish. The ordinal prefix ika is applied on the day first as in ika-4 ng Enero, 2021 (English: 4th of January 2021). The month-day-year format is also used, albeit rarely and more for Spanish recitation.

The text of the LCI was mostly written in Old Malay with influences of Sanskrit, Old Javanese and Old Tagalog using the Kawi script. Dutch anthropologist Antoon Postma deciphered the text. The date of the inscription is in the "Year of Saka 822, month of Vaisakha", corresponding to April–May in 900 AD.
