Pine Bluff, in essence, is the East St. Louis of Arkansas. Use to be a vibrant industrial city that suffered the effects of both the Great Migration and the phenomenon known as "white flight". If you dont already know, Pine Bluff, AR is a very dangerous crime ridden city, and that is why you see so much abandonment.

But it is defintely north of springfield.

The Arkansas site is still being updated fairly often, but last I checked, its Oklahoma sister site is pretty outdated. Fun fact, I just obtained AbandonedOK back in January and the site is now being updated every week there.

It was known as the Hepsey Schoolhouse to the local residents. The name of the community that was located on this part of the Buffalo River in Marion county was Hepsey. The schoolhouse is used as an emergency shelter now. Lightining hit the front porch in the late 1960s and shattered the concrete around one of the supports.

Re: festus mo (lots of abandoned buildings. by redox » Sun Jul 18, 2010 11:59 pm. also located off of 61-67 is an old abandoned quarry, i know back in the day we used to go offroading back there, but i havn't been there in about 5 years. last i heard some new homes where being built on the bluffs. damn that's awesome, I had no idea..thanks!
