Manual of Style (MoS) This guide presents the typical layout of Wikipedia articles, including the sections an article usually has, ordering of sections, and formatting styles for various elements of an article. Certain standardized templates and wikicode that are not sections go at the very top of the article, before the content of the lead section, and in the following order: A short description, with the {{Short description}} template; A disambiguation hatnote, most of the time with the {} template (see also Wikipedia:Hatnote § Hatnote templates)
Text formatting in citations should follow, consistently within an article, an established citation style or system. Options include either of Wikipedia's own template-based Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2, and any other well-recognized citation system. Parameters in the citation templates should be accurate.
Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal. Articles and other encyclopedic content should be written in a formal tone. Standards for formal tone vary a bit depending upon the subject matter but should usually match the style used in Featured - and Good -class articles in the same category.

A template is a Wikipedia page created to be included in other pages. It usually contains repetitive material that may need to show up on multiple articles or pages, often with customizable input. Templates sometimes use MediaWiki parser functions, nicknamed "magic words", a simple scripting language.
t. e. This Simplified Manual of Style is an overview of commonly used style guidelines taken from the Wikipedia:Manual of Style and its subpages (together called the MoS ). When a MoS guideline offers a choice of style, use only one alternative consistently throughout an article, and do not unreasonably alter a choice that has already been made.
Article Layout Template. This is a dummy article to help you get started with creating pages in the wiki. The first paragraph is usually a short dictionary-style definition of the subject matter. The gives the reader a quick answer, which may be all they required, and reassures them that they have come to the right page.
